For Teachers

Professional Learning

Grow your practice. Strengthen student learning.

At Partnerships for Literacy and Learning, we believe that strong schools grow from strong educators. Our professional learning opportunities are designed to support teachers, specialists, and school leaders in building the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to help every student thrive as a reader, writer, and thinker.

Grounded in research and responsive to classroom realities, our offerings emphasize practical strategies, collaborative learning, and meaningful reflection. Educators leave with tools they can immediately apply in their classrooms and schools.

We offer two primary types of professional learning opportunities:

Graduate Courses

Our graduate-level courses provide educators with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of literacy instruction and related areas of teaching and learning. Courses blend current research with practical application, encouraging participants to connect theory with the realities of their classrooms.

Participants engage in collaborative discussion, examine student work, and explore instructional practices that support all learners. Our courses are offered in partnership with accredited institutions and may be taken for graduate credit.

Courses are designed for classroom teachers, literacy specialists, special educators, and school leaders who are committed to strengthening their practice and improving student outcomes.

Workshops & Conferences

Our events bring educators together for focused, engaging professional learning experiences led by experienced practitioners and nationally recognized education leaders.

Workshops typically explore specific instructional practices, emerging research, or innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Sessions are highly practical, providing strategies, tools, and resources that educators can immediately apply in their classrooms.

Offerings may include single-day events, multi-day conferences, or special presentations featuring leading voices in literacy and education.

Offerings vary throughout the year.
